BLD’s work, executed via multiple individual projects for Jefferson Parish, consisted of the construction and/or reconstruction of various roadways as well as extensive associated drainage improvements. Roads consisted of reinforced concrete as well as asphalt-concrete pavements. Curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways and other surface features were constructed. Associated drainage improvements involved widening and extensions of open drainage canals and ditches, as well as various improvements for subsurface drainage pipes and catch basins, such as installation of new pipes and relocation of existing pipes. This work typically involved extensive work associated with other utilities within the limits of the roadway, such as water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, electric lines, etc. These other utilities often had to be replaced or relocated as part of the work.
